Data Governance Programmes Need Operational Tests
Policies do not guarantee decision-ready information
JLL's 2026 occupancy benchmark reported that 73% had data-governance programmes, while 70% had not begun AI implementation in occupancy planning.[3]
Analysis
The coexistence of these findings does not prove governance failure. It shows that formal activity and operational readiness are different stages.
Osmos Global analysis: governance should be tested through a specific data product. Can the organisation reconcile locations, capacity, sensor feeds, bookings and workforce populations for one decision?
Leadership implication: maturity reviews should examine accepted datasets and working controls, not only policies, committees and ownership charts.
